Books to help children understand and cope with anxiety

When children face big issues and and have anxious feelings they find hard to process, friendly characters can help them find a way through.

If your child has a worry, it could be time to turn to the worry tiger who helps Rory at show and tell, Erika the angst-busting Dream Defender, or Albert Talbot whose imagination lets him take wing. This selection for anxious kids includes I Love Me! which teaches children to practice affirmations, and Sometimes I Am Worried, with a wheel to prevent those worries getting too large.

The Worry Tiger
